Tibebe

Tibebe is an Ethiopian who serves in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His decades with international organizations were years spent always abroad. He has traveled through most of the world, yet he has no wife or children.

Most international staff were likewise posted far from home on another continent. The work environment and homesickness were formidable foes. Tibebe was a warm guru to nearly everyone in such circumstances, offering not only practical advice but wise counsel on life that helped them escape the swamp of depression.

In the rainforests of Congo lives the okapi, a rare animal found only there. Though it lives mostly alone, it extends its long tongue to eat shoots and fruit—a habit that plays an important role in spreading seeds and balancing the ecosystem. Tibebe is like an okapi.

Guest Information

Date changes are subject to the same penalties as cancellations.

Reselling, transferring, or exchanging reservations is strictly prohibited.

01.	Check-in is available from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM the following day.
02.	Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
03.	Guests have full access to “Library 0,” which houses over 20,000 books. Each room is also equipped with a thoughtful selection of books.
04.	Each space accommodates a maximum of 2 guests (1 guest for some spaces). Additional guests are not allowed.
05.	Cooking is not permitted in any room, and BBQ facilities are not provided.
06.	Breakfast is not provided, but there are many excellent restaurants in and around Heyri Village. We’re happy to offer personalized recommendations. Guests may use the refrigerator and microwave for light meals. Complimentary tea and coffee are available without limit.
07.	Essential toiletries (hairdryer, towels, toothpaste, etc.) are provided. However, in support of environmental sustainability, we do not offer disposable items. Please bring your own toothbrush and personal hygiene products.
08.	Pets are not allowed.
09.	Smoking is strictly prohibited both indoors and outdoors. The entire Heyri Art Village is designated as a non-smoking zone under the National Health Promotion Act.
10.	Unapproved commercial photography or filming—including advertisements, product shoots, online marketplaces, and drone use—is not permitted.

Refund Policy

A 10% penalty applies even for cancellations more than 10 days in advance.

Date changes are subject to the same penalties as cancellations.

Reselling, transferring, or exchanging reservations is strictly prohibited.

All stays at motif1 are planned and reserved in advance.

Each reservation grants exclusive occupancy and blocks others from booking. As your booking prevents others from reserving, a basic cancellation fee of 10% applies even 10 days prior to the stay.

Date changes are treated the same as cancellations and subject to the same penalties based on the schedule.
